SIDRA INTERSECTION Software Setup

Introduction to SIDRA only

This section applies to the Introduction to SIDRA training program only. If you are attending any other program, you can skip this section.

Training will be conducted using the latest version of SIDRA INTERSECTION. Before the session, each attendee will receive a temporary licence and a download link.

If you want to use your own SIDRA INTERSECTION licence, please update it to the latest version. For instructions, see How to Update.

Activate Your Training FLOATING Licence

Please ensure you have accepted the email invitation to join your SIDRA FLOATING Licence Account and create your SIDRA User Profile. If you have not received the invitation, please contact us.

For full instructions on how to sign in and acquire a licence seat, see the FLOATING Licence — End Users guide.

Two methods are available:

  • Online Method — activate SIDRA INTERSECTION while connected to the internet (recommended)
  • Offline Method — download a licence seat for use while disconnected from the internet for a limited time

Tip

We always recommend using the Online Method for ease of use.

Two Monitors — Display Setup

We recommend using two monitors to use the SIDRA INTERSECTION software and view the presentation and training book at the same time:

Monitor Usage
Monitor 1 Access and use the SIDRA INTERSECTION software and example files
Monitor 2 View the Presenter's screen and the Training Book

During presentations, you will see one of the following on the Presenter's screen: a PowerPoint presentation, SIDRA INTERSECTION software used by the Presenter, or the Presenter's copy of the Training Book.

You can view the presenter's shared screen in full screen by clicking on More → Enter fullscreen mode.

For reading data for examples, you may prefer to print the Training Book.

We recommend using two monitors to view the presentation and training book at the same time:

Monitor Usage
Monitor 1 Set to full screen size or a large enough size to clearly see all of the Presenter's screen
Monitor 2 PDF viewer to view the Training Book for exercises

Alternatively, you may print out the Training Book for your convenience.

To view the presenter's shared screen in full screen, click on Display → Full Screen.

Training Materials

We will send you links to download your Training Books and Project Files via email. Please copy them to your local computer so that you can open them from there during the training sessions.

Livestorm — Our Virtual Event Platform

We will conduct these training sessions using Livestorm via a high-speed fibre connection from our office located in Melbourne, Australia. Livestorm is a browser-based virtual event platform.

Compatible Browsers

We highly recommend using Google Chrome for our events. Other compatible browsers include Safari, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Opera.

How to Join the Livestorm Event

An email will be sent to you for each of your sessions via Livestorm approximately two days before your training commences.

You can join the training session (up to 15 minutes before start of training) by clicking on the Access Event button in the email.

After clicking on the Access Event button, you will be redirected to the lobby until the training session commences. If prompted, you may need to enter your details and click on the Update my information button before you can access the training session.

Live Support Using Livestorm Chat

We will have support staff live on Livestorm chat during the sessions to help attendees with any questions or issues.

To send a message to our support staff, click the Chat button at the bottom right corner of the Livestorm window. Type your message, and click on the Send message icon.

Q&A Sessions Using the Questions Tab

During the training session, there will be several Q&A sessions which will allow attendees to ask any questions.

To send your questions to the presenters, click on the Questions tab at the bottom right corner of the Livestorm window. A mini pop-up window will appear. Enter your question and click on the Send a question button.

Troubleshooting

Please follow the steps below to resolve any issues you may be experiencing with Livestorm.

Refresh Your Browser

F5 on your keyboard (Windows) or Cmd+R (Mac). Alternatively, click the circular arrow icon near the address bar of your browser.

The Event Room Is Not Loading

If you've clicked on your access link but see an infinitely loading circle, this means that you are on a protected network or firewall. To fix this problem, you will need to:

  • Turn off the firewall or use a different network, or
  • Use your mobile's 4G network or connect via mobile

Check Your Connectivity

Test your streaming setup here: Livestorm Connectivity Test

Use a Different Browser

We highly recommend using Google Chrome for our events. Other compatible browsers include Safari, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Opera.

Try Using Incognito Mode

If using incognito mode worked, you have a cookie problem or a conflict with an extension. Clean the cookies, remove blocking extensions, log out from Livestorm and log back in.

Try Switching Networks

If switching network works (i.e., switching to your mobile phone network), you probably have a network issue with a specific network.

Use the Help Function

Use Help at the bottom left corner of the screen to troubleshoot audio, connectivity or to refresh Livestorm.

If Issues Persist, Contact Us

If following the steps listed above has not resolved your issues, please Contact Us.

On the Day

We have compiled a list of housekeeping rules to ensure our training session runs smoothly for all attendees.

15 Minutes Prior to Session Start

  • Close anything you don't need on your computer
  • Check that your headset audio is working
  • We will open access to the meeting 15 minutes prior to start time so attendees can join early
  • Have your training material ready

During the Session

  • We have allowed for short Q&A sessions throughout each module. You may post your questions by using the Questions Tab. These will then be answered by one of the presenters, time permitting
  • If you have technical issues, please send a message to Support. Our support staff can help you via chat

Roll Call

For paid training programs, we will be checking in with attendees on the day as part of a roll call and need to be able to match your full name against the ticket purchased for the session.
