Version 9.0

All updates to SIDRA INTERSECTION 9.0, starting with the most recent release.

Previous Version

SIDRA INTERSECTION 9.0 is a previous version. Technical support is provided for the current version only. For best results and ongoing support, we recommend upgrading to the latest SIDRA INTERSECTION release.

Version 9.0.5.85

Release Date: 2 June 2021

This is the last release of SIDRA INTERSECTION 9.0.

Enhancements
  • The embedded browser component used in the Floating Licensing system has been updated.
  • The Floating Licence login process now opens the Floating Licence login page in the user's default web browser instead of inside the application. This supports user identification (authentication) through Single Sign-On (SSO) integration with an Identity Provider (e.g., Microsoft Entra ID, formerly known as Azure AD). Previously, SSO (if configured) opened in an embedded browser within the application.
  • Improvements to User Guide and Help.
Bug Fixes
  • Corrected errors related to the calculation of Degree of Saturation for Signal Coordination in some cases of shared lanes.
  • Fixed errors related to the calculation of Average Approach Phase Times for Signal Coordination.
  • In some cases, queue calculations resulted in very large and incorrect values for certain roundabout Sites. This was due to a problem with the Queue Move-up Rate calculation. This has been fixed.
  • Fixed a problem related to the Move-Up Rate used for queue calculation when the demand flow rate is zero.
  • Extra Bunching value changes at roundabout approaches due to upstream signals now follow a more gradual trend with increasing distance.
  • Fixed a problem related to calculation of Extra Bunching at roundabout approaches due to an upstream signalised intersection at short spacing.
  • Incorrect value of Degree of Saturation was calculated for a roundabout approach with no demand (zero) flow rate for all movements on the approach while the approach had Extra Bunching. This has been fixed.
  • Fixed some cases where the Phase Frequency parameter was not being correctly considered in signal timing analysis.
  • Fixed an error with Network processing that resulted in zero platoon ratio at roundabout approaches with Midblock Signals upstream.

Version 9.0.4.79

Release Date: 21 September 2021

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a bug related to saving a file that caused changes to a Project not to be saved in some cases.
  • Fixed a problem with opening of project files created by previous releases.
  • Fixed a problem with Site and Network Scenarios. The Timing Strategy option in the Signals dialog is now available for changing in the Scenarios.
  • Fixed an error that occurred in some cases of User Movement Classes in a Network.
  • Fixed an error that occurred when a Network Volume Bin had a different Demand Set value from the Site.

Version 9.0.3.73

Release Date: 25 May 2021

Enhancements
  • The Floating Licence login process now opens the Floating Licence Login page in the user's default web browser instead of inside the application. This supports user identification (authentication) through Single Sign-On (SSO) integration with an Identity Provider (e.g., Microsoft Azure AD). Previously, SSO (if configured) opened in an embedded browser within the application.
  • When the Proxy Server Authentication dialog appears, users now have the option to save their Proxy Server credentials. If saved, the credentials will be applied automatically when the dialog is next shown, and the user only needs to confirm.
  • Improvements to User Guide and Help.
Bug Fixes
  • In some cases of Signal Coordination, Signal Timing Information for a Lane was shown as "None" when it should have shown the relevant phase name. This did not affect any calculations.
  • Fixed an error that occurred when Floating Licence licence seats were changed, e.g. between Standard and Professional.
  • Fixed an issue that occurred when the Windows Display Scale was set to some values.
  • Fixed a problem where the Route selector in the Time-Distance Display was not showing all available Routes.
  • Fixed the Route Time-Distance Display for Routes through some Network Sites.
  • Fixed an error related to display of results for some Special Movement Classes.
  • A number of errors related to Volume Bins have been fixed including:
    • Fixed an error that occurred when the Windows decimal separator was set to comma.
    • Fixed an error that occurred when a Volume Bin was deleted.
    • Fixed an error that occurred when user-given Phase Times were used.
    • Fixed a crash when importing Volumes for the Site Pedestrian movements.
    • Fixed a problem with sorting in some output tables (Sites, Networks) of the Project Summary when there are more than 9 Sites.
  • Fixed a crash when closing the dialog for Define Demand Set or Timing Set in the Multiple Sequences.
  • Fixed a crash in the program when the Pedestrian dialog was opened for an All-Way Stop Controlled Site.
  • Fixed an error that occurred when the User defined Route dialog was opened for a Network with only one Site.
  • Fixed some problems that occurred with the Convert (Batch) function for opening old version files with a batch conversion function.

Version 9.0.2.63

Release Date: 17 December 2020

Enhancements
  • The Floating Licence system has been updated to include an optional Proxy Server Authentication method. In cases where the user's IT network uses a Proxy Server and internet access requires authentication, the application will prompt for the user's Proxy Server credentials (Username and Password) to support authentication via the Proxy Server.
  • In the Volume Bins dialog, the default Reference Volume value for a new Bin has been changed from 100% to 0%. This eliminates having the same Volume Bin twice (once as the 100% Reference Volume and once as the selected Volume Bin for analysis) in the Project Summary and other reports that include the Volume Bins.
  • Improvements to User Guide and Help.
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a problem with the calculation of effective green times in some Signal Coordination cases.
  • Various fixes related to Volume Bins including:
    • Fixed a problem that occurred when volumes were exported.
    • The Volume Bin option was incorrectly available for some output reports that don't support it. This has been corrected.
    • Fixed an error that occurred when the Volume Bin Index option was selected in some cases.
    • Fixed a problem related to the Bus Midblock Volume parameter.
    • Fixed an issue related to sorting by Site/Network ID in the Project Summary report when Volume Bins were used.
    • When Volume Bins were in use, the Program Summary reports were not highlighting the input results for the selected Volume Bin. This has been fixed.
  • Fixed a case where Queue values could be unrealistically high for some roundabout approaches.
  • In some cases, the Detailed Output had blank values in the Arrival Headway Distribution table. This has been fixed.
  • Fixed a problem with the Network Configuration dialog for an unusual case where it was possible to create a link with the same Site at both ends of the link.
  • Fixed an error that occurred when the Network Route dialog was opened for a Network with only one Site.
  • The Project Summary report was not reporting correct values for Worst Movement and Worst Lane parameters in Network rows. This has been fixed.
  • Fixed a problem where the Site List was not correct when the Project Summary was exported.
  • Fixed an issue in the dialog for Define Demand Set for Multiple Sequences.
  • Fixed an issue where some old version (Version 7 and earlier) project files could not be opened.
  • Fixed an error that occurred when opening the Output Reports button for the Site Level of Service display.
  • The Copy button in the Gap Acceptance dialog was not copying information to the clipboard. This has been fixed.
  • Fixed an issue with the Site Timing Displays for an unusual case of a shared lane.
  • Various corrections to the User Guide.

Version 9.0.1.54

Release Date: 4 August 2020

  • Fixed some rare cases where the Movement Timing Display did not appear.
  • Fixed some issues related to display of the Project Summary.
  • Fixed some errors related to printing of output reports.
