2.6 SIDRA ASSIGN Data Structure

The input datasets for ASSIGN can be categorised into the Assign Network and Assign Volume Bin. An Assign Network is created by linking a Basic Network with an Assign Volume Bin. A Basic Network needs to be prepared beforehand in the Network Setup Tab.

The Assign Network input data includes the following:

  • Network, including Routes and Fixed Routes

  • Network Scenario Volumes

  • Zone positions and Zone Connectors

  • Assign Data, which defines the Assignment Method

  • Assign Scenarios, which defines the Initial Vehicle Volumes and O-D Volume.

The Assign Output datasets for an Assign Network includes ASSIGN-specific outputs as well as Network Outputs, Route Outputs and Network Site Outputs which can be accessed in the Network Tab, like accessing the outputs of a Basic Network.

The Assign Volume Bin contains input data for the Zones and O-D Volumes. An Assign Volume Bin can include several O-D Volumes based on the same set of Zones. The Assign Volume Bin includes the following data:

  • Bin Data

  • Movement Classes of Assign and Fixed Trips

  • Zone Data

  • O-D Volumes.

An Assign Volume Bin can be associated with multiple Assign Networks; thereby multiple Assign Networks can share the same set of Zones and O-D Volumes. Modifying the Zones and O-D Volumes of the shared Assign Volume Bin will affect the inputs of all linked Assign Networks.

O-D Presets are shared across all Assign Networks linked to the same Assign Volume Bin.
